Milestones:

1 1543 : Vesalius created his book De Humani Corporis Fabrica – which became the basis of modern anatomy.
2 1550: Gabriel Fallopio’s close study of the body revealed tiny structures.
3 1590: Sabtorio Sanctorius created the science of physiology . He also showed how to measure pulse and temperature.
4 1628: William Harvey revealed how the heart circulates blood.
5 1661: Using microscope, Marcello Malphigi save tiny blood vessels called capillaries.
6 1798: Edward Jenner showed people could be vaccinated against infectious diseases.
7 1840: Rudolf Virchow and Jakob Henle found that the body is built up from tissues made from tiny cells.
