How big is the Sun ?
The Sun measures 1,392,530 kilometers across , or 109 times the diameter of the Earth. Over a million Earth could be squashed into the Sun’s globe. If the Sun were the size of a football, the Earth would be only two millimeters across.Although the Sun is enormous compared with the planets, it is much smaller than many stars. The bright reddish star Betelgeuse in the constellation of Orion is large than the orbit of the planet Mars, or about 300 times the Sun’s diameter
