The Coldest temperature are recorded in winter in Antarctica , In July 1983, Russian scientists measured a new record low of 89.2 C.
Very cold temperature have been recorded in Siberia :- -68 C at Verkhoyansk in 1982.This place holds the record for the greatest temperature range : from a coldest winter temperature of 68C to a hottest summer temperature of 36.7 C. The Arctic ‘cold pole’ is some way from the North Pole because of the surrounding Arctic Ocean. Seas have a moderating effect on the climate of coastal areas.
