Breezes are light winds, maximum Force 3, caused by differences in temperature between the sea and land. Both become warm and cold at different speeds – slowly for the sea, quickly for the land.
By day , the air over the land rises up, and in its place comes the fresh air from above the sea. At sunset, the land is cool: so, the air above it is drawn to the sea, where the warmer air rises , making room for the cool air.
