Why do the planets Revolve Around the Sun ?

If the planets did not move , the sun’s pull would drag them inwards. But if they moved too quickly, they would fly off into space. The closer a planet is to the Sun, the faster it must move.

The planets all move in the same direction. They were probably formed from the same spinning cloud of material that produced the sun. At birth, the Sun would have been spinning on its axis in a few hours. The cloud’s slowed it down to its present 25- day period.
Apart from Venus and Uranus , all the planets spinning anti clockwise direction too . Venus spins very slowly backwards, while the axis of Uranus is titled right over , so that it spin on its side.
