Why are there coal , Seams , in the Antarctic ?

Coal is a rock made of the fossil remains of the plants . the icy Antarctic has very few plants now ; however , when these coal seams were formed , there must have been plenty of plants, and the climate must have been warmer .

The coal seams of the Antarctic were formed about 250 million years ago when Antarctic was part of the super continent , Pangaea.
