Where was maize first Grown ?

Maize is grown in many parts of the world which have hot summers. It is a native of Americas, and was an important food crop for many Indians before the Europeans arrived.

For the early European settlers in America, ‘Indian corn’ as it was called, was often a life saver. Most American maize is now used as cattle food, but some is eaten as sweetcorn or turned into cornflakes or flour.
